Advice:
Using a “mummy” style sleeping bag provides for a warm, safe, and comfortable night’s sleep. Synthetic fill bags will keep you warm even when they are wet, while Down fill bags will reduce your pack weight but must be kept dry. It is important to select a sleeping bag that is temperature rated for 10° F lower than the minimum temperature you are expecting to encounter during your trip. If you are traveling with your significant other make sure you select sleeping bags with zippers on the opposite side so that you can “mate” your sleeping bags together and have a cozy night in the wilderness.
