Gear To Go Outfitters opened on March 3, 2009 as New York City’s first and only full service outfitter, offering sales and rentals of backpacking hiking, and camping gear as well as gourmet guided hiking and backpacking trips. Initially opened as an online-only business run out of an apartment on 2nd Street in Brooklyn, founder Kevin J. Rosenberg soon realized that Gear To Go needed a physical presence.
Kevin soon built a successful street stand business and through New York’s coldest winters and hottest summers Kevin brought the finest in outdoor gear to the streets of Park Slope. April 2011 saw the opening of our first brick & mortar location and the addition of the only outfitter to serve Brooklyn's outdoor community. After a number of years we returned our focus to providing rental gear to adventurers nationwide with an increased focus on adventure travel. Kevin is now focusing solely on the adventure travel while the rentals are handled by an experienced outdoors rental management team based in Arizona - contact us for anything you need!
