Description
Our two-person car camping tents—often called family camping tents—are built to handle challenging weather and keep you protected from the elements. Unlike the low-cost tents you’ll find at big-box retailers, our rental tents are durable, weather-resistant, and designed for repeated real-world use. Most of our fleet comes from Alps Mountaineering, a trusted USA-based manufacturer known for providing rugged, reliable tents to Scout troops and outdoor programs.
Easy, Fast Setup
Every tent is designed for quick and simple setup. One person can have it fully assembled in just minutes using the two main crossbars that support the tent body and an additional pole or two for the waterproof rainfly. These tents are freestanding—they do not require stakes to stand—making it easy to reposition them even after setup. Stakes and pegs are included for extra stability in windy conditions.
Two-Wall Construction for Weather Protection
This is a double-wall tent, consisting of:
-
A breathable tent body with mesh panels for airflow
-
A waterproof rainfly for rain protection and added insulation
You can leave the rainfly off on warm, dry nights for maximum ventilation and sky views. Each tent also includes two doors, making it easier for campers to get in and out without climbing over each other—especially helpful for nighttime bathroom trips.
These tents are ideal for large group events, including retreats, family reunions, corporate outings, school trips, and festivals. We regularly outfit groups of over 200 people with this same tent style.
Capacity & Comfort Recommendations
The listed capacity reflects how many adults fit when using standard-size sleeping pads. For comfort, we recommend choosing a tent rated for one person more than your group size. While two adults will fit inside a two-person tent, expect a snug sleeping arrangement.

Best Uses
These tents are designed for car camping, where weight isn’t a concern and convenience is key. While not intended for long-distance backpacking, hikers can divide the components among a group if they choose to carry a larger tent into the backcountry. Keep in mind that larger tents can be harder to place in smaller remote campsites.
In addition to outdoor adventures, this tent is also a popular rental choice for music festivals, community events, and overnight gatherings where dependable shelter is essential.
